Super Bowl Odds: Indianapolis Colts

#6 – Indianapolis Colts – Kevin’s Super Bowl percentage: 5%

I’m quite low on the Colts compared to everybody else. Don’t get me wrong, I love Andrew Luck and think this team is on the verge of being something extremely special. However, I feel they meet their demise in wild card weekend against the Texans. Frank Reich is somewhat of a defending Super Bowl Champion (he was the Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Coordinator in Super Bowl 52), but he’s a rookie head coach. To me, that puts him at a bit of a disadvantage.

Offensively they have weapons. Luck is a tremendous quarterback and he’s surrounded by talented guys like Marlon Mack, T.Y. Hilton, and Eric Ebron. Defensively they’re at a disadvantage this weekend in Houston. Any team that has to face J.J. Watt and the Texans defense is up against an extreme challenge and that’s exactly what they face on Saturday in Houston. A big thing the Colts have going for them is that they have the greatest kicker of all time in Adam Vinatieri. If the game comes down to a kick, they’ll probably win. But right now they don’t fully stack up well against this Texans team in my mind.

Indianapolis is on the way up. 2018 won’t be their year, but it’ll prove to be extremely important in the development of many players within the organization. If they manage to squeak by the Texans, they’ll most likely have to get through Kansas City and New England to make the Super Bowl. This team can’t do that right now. Soon they can…just not right now.
